My pants are too small!

For some reason I thought I would be blessed by the pregnancy gods. I was under the false impression that the baby growing inside me would not require my participation in the maternity clothing craze. Well I couldn't hold out any longer -- my pre-prego pants just weren't cutting it any more. Which is pretty sad considering all the cute spring clothes that were waiting to make their annual appearance back in my wardrobe.

And my jeans... I so miss how comfortable they were!

So I bit the bullet and dragged Scott out on a full day of shopping. He was a trooper, and waited patiently while we trekked across the mall, and then the city, to find some cute clothes that actually fit. And I must say, this is no easy task. Very few stores carry maternity clothes, and those that do don't exactly have a great selection. And don't get me started on H&M. For all the hype, I just didn't get it. After 10 minutes in the store I wanted strangle the next tween that bumped into me.

Fortunately, I found a few items to get me started, but I still have a long way to go. All day Sunday was spent cleaning out the closet, so there is plenty of room avaialbe for any new items. I have enlisted Katrina to go with me next week to check out some more stores and we will see just how much money I can get away with spending! (And I still need to find some jeans!)

Baby Furniture

We took our first look at the world of baby furniture last Sunday at Tots to Teens Furniture . We saw a few brands: Romina, Munire, and Young America. All of the brands made"built to grow" cribs, which are cribs that turn into day beds which turn in to full size beds. The idea is the baby furniture can grow with the child and not force the parents into buying new furniture in a few years. This "built to grow" thing was new to me before going through this process, but it seems like a good idea.

All three brands had some nice options. Arielle liked the Romina line the best as it had a "self closing" feature. More to come...

We did it!

We created...

I swore I would never do this, and yet I still managed to jump on the bandwagon. Call it the curse of working for a company like Capstrat, where new media is inescapable, and Twitter and Facebook are embraced and encouraged. So, there actually is a purpose for this blog, otherwise I probably wouldn't have the courage (or find the time) to keep up with such a thing. For those of you who don't know already, there is something else we created...

There are so many people we want to share this adventure with, and I thought keeping a blog would be a great way to keep everyone up to speed on things. That is, of course, if you are interested. We welcome your visits to this site and hope you will share your comments as well.

So a little background on our growing family: we found out in late January that we were expecting, and it has been a whirlwind ever since! Keeping the secret through the first trimester was a challenge, but it was well worth the wait to tell our families with confidence at week 13 that we would soon be parents. So the countdown to September 29 is well underway, and week 16 begins tomorrow. We went to a doctor's appointment today, heard the heartbeat again (always a wonderful sound!) and received confirmation that we would learn the sex of our "little one" as my dad lovingly calls it, in four weeks. May 11 cannot get here soon enough!

We will work hard to post our thoughts, share our joys and keep you updated on the progress as Baby Dozier grows. And to the "little one," Mommy and Daddy cannot wait to meet you!
