It has been a while since this blog has seen an update, especially one from me. Sorry about that, you (four) loyal blog followers!
As is the case every year, we have lots of reasons to celebrate in the last two weeks of December. Arielle turned 29 on December 22nd. Arielle and I were able to take a little time away from watching the baby as Nana (Debi) graciously watched her for a few hours after having cared for her all day long (Thank You!). We decided to try something new for our combined Birthday dinner and went to Brasa Steakhouse. Brasa is Brazilian style steakhouses were you really need to bring your appetite. At the restaurant you pay a flat rate per person where you can get an unlimited amount of food from the appetizer/salad bar as well as rodizio meats. At your table, you have a rock painted red on one side, green on the other. If you turn your rock to the green side, a server comes to your table with grilled steak, sausage, chicken, lamb, or pork to slice on your plate. As long as your rock is green, they will keep coming. I believe there are about 11 meats in all. The food was good and it would be a neat place to go again with more people.
We spent Christmas morning at home and then travelled to Goldsboro in the afternoon for Christmas dinner with Holly, Gerry, and Milt. After a great meal, we opened gifts, where Madelyn received more great gifts and money for her college fund. Thank you for all the great presents!
We traveled to Greenville Christmas night where Maggie was waiting with her Grandparents. December 26th brought a 7.5 inch snow to Greenville, which is the most I’ve ever seen in my visits. It was a nice holiday treat which I think Maggie enjoyed most off all. She ran around in the snow while we threw snow balls in the air. When she came in she had baseball sized snow balls stuck in her fur that we had to melt with a blow dryer to remove.
The following day we got a visit from Arielle’s Aunt (Robin), Uncle (Dave), and cousins (Nick and Tyler). They drove down through the snow filled Carolinas from Cleveland, OH. We enjoyed their visit and appreciate the gift wrapped 12 pack of Great Lakes Brewing Co. beer (good stuff).
